Started the day off with brunch at Jones the Grocer because we were too late for Wild Honey.

Went to take a peek at H&M, finally before walking all the way to Ion for a little snack before heading to the F1 arena.

i don't blog enough. not sure what happened to all my free time. the past week have been rather nice and comfortable. managed to catch up with the people who i hold really closely in my heart.

spent two evenings with joy and brains! it really takes effort to keep in touch these days. glad to see everyone's doing well. gonna hit the gym with joy and good plans with the brian, hopefully very soon. spent a gd half day w the momo in town - mooncake tasting, bakerzin, ikea. silly us, we went to giant tampines, found the raspberries were a dollar cheaper than cold storage, bought it but took a cab back that cost 7 bucks. nicely done

one thing that's really striking. have been to starbucks thrice in the last week. i shld be investing in a starbucks card!

spent half an hr at work on LB's new launch with a colleague of mine, can't wait for the stuff to arrive whees!

instead of heading to town as initially planned, we decided to settle somewhere closer to the east. took a slow walk to The Bark Cafe since Lots was closed for the holidays. wondered why i never came back because the food was just plain amazing.

glad we took up our server's recommendation of the wings..which arrived piping hot and was so yummy. the fact that i never eat poultry skin but i downed every bit of those wings is testament enough to how simply awesome they were.

maybe it's because we skipped the part of getting to know each other better being close friends for the better part of 3 years, time spent ever since we got together have past mainly in content silence...oh i love how each time i manage to catch your gaze, your eyes crinkle up when you smile..

but today during dinner, maybe it was how far away we were from the bustle of city life, maybe it was how awesome the food was, maybe it was the easy tunes, but somehow the atmosphere at the cafe just seemed different. conversation was easy, drifted around family..thinking back i can't rem exactly what was said, just that it kept me laughing..what a perfect dinner date!

i am really happy and delighted that everyone around us are happy for us. i miss you every time you drive away in your car, after sending me home at night. i secretly love how when we part, i know you'd still be standing there should i turn around.

(sn) would like to remind you very much that i was first this time round. d: here's to many more races to be the first at midnight!

went to a friend's wedding yesterday. and as expected of a major event it evoked many thoughts and feelings. doesn't help that the monthly visit is around the corner. so had emo crap rushing through and messing with my head as well. comfort came in the form of his warm unwavering touch.

and it's not that i wouldn't want to share the joy of my big day. but i would actually love a really small private event with only close friends present. that's gonna be a little tough though especially when one's chinese.

Woke up in the middle of the night...and since i couldn't fall asleep I turned on my laptop and guess who I found online at 3am!

Conference day

Then dawned the day of the conference. Thank god i brought along a formal skirt. Everyone were in suits! Never spoke up so much before, in front of a congregation of 80...i must be insane...maybe being alone in a foreign country does that to you..

So in between falling asleep during the various presentations, I had to get up and take a walk. Went to the nearest convenience store to top up my pre-paid phone card and spied more street hawkers! This was flour balls, green bean paste balls and batter-fried bananas ala our own goreng pisang...yums!

So after the conference concluded, the thai people organised a lavish dinner for us. Have never heard of the place, but Sukhothai is apparently the go-to place for royalties when they're in town. The place was this floating resturant, where you dine amongst a lake of water lilies..nice!

With liz, the rep from the drug co, she's super sweet and made sure I was looked after.

The Sukhothai Khao Chae

Had no idea what this was, just that I was avoiding most of the side dishes because they look really out of the world! So i googled and got this from Lonely Planet.

Originally a royal cuisine, or a dish that was developed within a palace, or by a member of a royal family, it is now however a common Thai dish, found in various Thai restaurants in town, usually only in the month of April.

The name derived from how it is served. “Khao” means rice, and “chae” means to immerse in water. The rice is first parboiled, making it chewier than usual, then served immersed in icy cold jasmine-scented water.

What do we eat this with? A variety of mostly sweet side dishes, which include young pepper stuffed with minced pork, sweetened shredded beef or pork, glazed Chinese turnips, batter-fried kapi or shrimp paste, and more, depending on the “house” the recipe is passed down from.

Unlike other Thai dishes, it is less flavorful and not at all spicy, so it is not much of a favorite to many locals, but it sure is an interesting dish for foreigners with a rather more delicate palate.

The dessert was awesome stuff. Pity I was too stuffed from the earlier dishes. This was the best red ruby i've ever had. Couldn't down more than 5 spoonfuls...

Went to Patpong after for a little shopping with the singaporean participants. We returned to the hotel rather early so the drug co reps brought me out for a thai massage. My first! haha was rather appalled when I saw my neighbour being trotted on by his masseuse. So i told my masseuse to take it easy, and she did, and I fell asleep!

Alone in Bkk

Okay so I wasn't really alone. Went to bangkok for a work conference. Met fellow Singaporean doctors at the airport and we were shuttled to the hotel in a limousine. Was an eye-opener how revered you're treated when you're a doctor.

I planned to put down my bags, and head to Platinum mall the moment I touched down in Bkk. But the doctors asked if I wanted to join them for lunch. Was apprehensive in the beginning. This was my precious shopping time you're eating into you see! But decided being sociable was the better option since we were gonna spend an entire day at a conference together.

Did not regret it though, got introduced to thai food i would never have touched otherwise. Topdown: Tomyam Goong, Pomelo salad with dried shrimp (MUST TRY), Duck in red curry, Crispy fish salad (Again must try! think it's called yum pla duk fu in thai)

The crispy fish salad is a must try, it's deep fried minced fish that you eat together with fresh vegetables dipped in a vinaigrette that only the thais know how to mix to perfection.

The doctors decided to head back to the hotel for some R&R, weekend's the time for them to rest they say. So that was my cue to hit the shops! They told me to take the train because it was safer. Decided to wing it and take a cab since platinum's just too far from any of the train stations.

First shop i made a beeline to was this ring shop on the 5th storey. The last time i came here with kelly, i saw so many rings i wanted. Almost had them in my pocket but because the shopkeeper didn't want to meet my price, i left the shop...and sulked at my loss for a year.

Here's a glimpse into the rows of shops at platinum. they go on forever. after awhile i kinda got nauseated because it was just too overwhelming! Sensory overload....

And though I was still full from lunch, I knew I had to get my Pon De Donut when i saw Mister Donut..omg Mister Donut has the best donuts in the world.

It was close to evening when I left. Got some directions from these two helpful shop owners. They told me the best way out of platinum was to get a tuktuk ride to the nearest BTS train station and catch the train back because it was peak hour. The traffic wld be insane.

So i got a tuktuk ride for 50 baht ((: still the best (though not the safest) way to travel in thailand. love the wind and it was such a novelty to ride in one!

took the train back to the hotel to beat the traffic. Peered at Siam Paragon at the Siam Central stop, made a note to head there in the nxt couple of days!

So i could take the shuttle bus from the train station back to the hotel, but i was feeling a little venturous so I decided to take the side road short cut back. Found a few street hawkers on the way. Some sausage thingy..rem trying this in phuket a year ago. Was horrible a year ago. Was horrible yet again...eeeps!

Thank goodness for the store beside. Fried food can't go wrong!

Had dinner back in the room...So here's what i bought..half a fried chicken and sticky rice just for 2 bucks!

And the fruit platter that got refreshed each day. I ate one banana out of a bunch of three. The next day after the room was made up, it was a full bunch of three again!

They had a pillow menu, insane stuff! haha there were four pillows on my bed with different textures. Not sure which was what though. Just slept on the hard one and hugged the soft one to sleep.

Quickly got changed before I changed my mind and nua-ed around the entire night..love the bunny ring!

Hitched a cab down to Lebua at State Tower. Loved the place, it was this skybar overlooking the whole of bangkok. Bangkok night lights twinkling beneath you, and this awesome dome towering above you. Needless to say...I'll definitely be back...

By this time, I was feeling a lot home sick. Missed home, family and the guy. And since it was around 10pm, decided to head to Ekkamai. Read about the quirky cafes there, and since this one had wifi, it was easily decided where I would head to.

Charming little place, safe for the mozzies that kept getting at me ugh! But i just sat there tapping on the wifi, talking to the guy until it was past midnight.

the layer of dust here must be one inch thick. i have so much updates. did so many things. 2010 was pretty disappointing. glad that 2011 has taken a turn for the better.

hope to update much more, but since almost all my close friends are privy to this already. i miss this guy sooo much ))):

total paparazzi shot...5 weeks away is a long time! heck when i'm back from the states, he's still not gonna be back even...oh wells! we're gonna have tons of stories to exchange..exciting stuff!

Haha because at the rate i'm blogging, the next time a new post emerges, it'll be post-easter. Day off today YEA...spent it with the momo. surprisingly the two of us have been making it a habit to go on food haunts whenever i'm off work. the dad and sister have been very busy with work lately.

had thai food at the highly rated ah loy thai at shaw tower. not really my cup of tea. in fact i'm rather turned off by thai food now because it didn't really agree with my tummy. ugh. the momo say it's too spicy..mehh but i love spicy food!

what else other than tom's palette after. the momo's too atas..only willing to settle for haagen daas, but i think the chocolate is pretty good!

life's pretty alright these days. much better than before. something both joy and my aunt said has been making me rethink. well only if you'd bring it up! ((:

so at the start of 2010, i said that it was gonna be the best year yet. turns out to be otherwise. rated against my 24 years...i think it's way at the bottom. i got what i wished for last birthday. but still wasn't happy.

it's that time of the year where resolutions are being made once again. just 2 days before new year, i sat down with car and andrea and we wanted to write our group's resolution on a napkin and bury it for the year, only to open it come 2012.

it made me think of my personal resolutions. i wanted nothing big, nothing concrete, more of spiritual stuff. so here's what i came up with:

To build better relationships with the people i'm close to. especially the family. somehow i can't handle r'ships well, anything goes wrong, i clam up and bottle it up. not such a good idea because first of all, it doesn't solve the situation and next, eventually when it hits my threshold, that's it. game over.

My ***ing battles. not comfortable enough to spell it out yet. not sure if this would hinder my overcoming it. but i really do hope to find peace with this battle. used to be able to handle it so well. but people around me, they aren't exactly helping. and i tell myself to ignore them. it's me, my health, my own determination. but i can't. so i know it's gonna be an uphill task. i prob wouldn't be able to go cold turkey and quit it all at once. but i hope it cut it down. strength agnes strength.

Complete my first full marathon. no more signing up for ten thousand different runs. i'm just gonna try to keep it to those strategic few. hopefully just stanchart. but no i've alr signed up for the 2xu run. mehh. and this time i'm gonna finish the full marathon. on my own efforts. no more excuses.

2010 was a disgusting year. seriously. i'm hoping with all my might 2011 might be the fresh start i need so badly.

stanchart's over and my souvenir - a throbbing painful right big toe. post run day 1 - hurt like a bitch but thought pain after was normal, acknowledged it and that was that. post run day 3 - still hurting badly, worse in fact, and my nail's starting to wobble in the nailbed! damm!!

googled for solutions. got these:

black toenails are a part of ultrarunning. If you don't like the color, try nail polish. Your toenails may loosen and fall off. That is OK. Toenails are useless appendages that you can do without. When mine get loose I pull them out with pliers. They eventually grow back, but they are never as pretty as the originals.

AND

you can lessen the internal pressure from the hematoma by drilling (with a small drill bit between your thumb and fingers-not a power drill!) a small hole through the nail.

AND

if they become persistent, get them removed permanently.

NOOOOOO!!! it is NOT okay! i want pretty toenails ))):

oh nice..i can now see signs of a developing blue bruise....

Do not judge others

so i was reading odj and today's article just rang out really clearly to me. without fully understanding all the issues and motives involved, how can we bring judgement on others. and before we even do so, have we examined our own lives enough to allow others to judge ourselves.

i remember in the past i shrived to live a life of goodness, giving the benefit of doubt to the people around me. somewhere along the way i started feeling naive for doing so, no one else is doing it anyways. and it isn't like the most easy thing to do.

and i totally regret taking the slippery road to vile...coz it's so tough to get back on the virtuous train.

how's life now. it's pretty much passing by in a blur. the whole of november passed by just like that. dived headfirst into a new activity with carmoo. have been enjoying it thus. workwise, it got really crazy for awhile then it died down. my favourite op colleague was down for some time which made me realise how much i liked working at op coz of his presence. lunches with niron stopped, i don't know why...perhaps it has to do with the fact that i don't like to pour my troubles out that much, doing so only to appear normal. but when people whine, i drop all and about-turn. it's fine with gals, gal friend whining i gladly take. to me, guys should just suck it up. yes thank you. i know it's contradictory to my earlier rant. but as i said, it's tough to revert back.

it's a tease how there's the chinese word for peace in my name.

these couple of years, things have been anything but.

and even more recently, someone close to me have been plagued by anything but peace. her troubles permeate even her dreams, where i can constantly hear her mumbling words of unrest.

and i may appear nonchalant about it, but it's been affecting my sleep as well. i'm a pig. i can fall asleep anywhere. but recently, sleep has been evading me. i wish i had a solution to her problems. but the predicament is too rooted.

tonight before i sleep, i'm gonna pray a little prayer, the road is long, but it's easy to find comfort in the littlest things. so pick these bits of comfort and use them as padded stepping stones on your life path....

Went cycling with greg in the morning, we covered 43km! but I was so tired, I couldn't wake up on time to meet andrea and car after an afternoon nap! so sorry to make you girls wait!

and so the birthday celebrations roll on....This time I met up with the perc girls to celebrate shijia and cui's birthdays..

first stop was this vegetarian japanese restaurant around downtown bugis. yuppers it was vegetarian! they even had vegetarian salmon sashimi, i don't know how but it looked rather authentic on the menu pictures.

after a rather leisurely lunch while waiting for the rain to stop, we decided to take a stroll for some red velvet cake at food for thought but it was closed. Decided to head to caramel which was further down the street. but that again was closed. So andrea thought of haji lane where the both of us previously had some rather awesome ice cream.

but that too was closed, however in a very quaint furniture shop, we found a rather pretty cafe with a pretty name nestled on the second floor - CafeFables.

And it's my weak spot when it comes to design, but the toilet was awesome. It was an outdoor toilet (score one!) in an old shophouse (score two!!) with a rain shower and a cute metal bucket sink to boot!

We all sipped our respective drinks (hot choc for me) and shared some cheesecake while catching up with each other. Perfect thing to do on a pouring saturday afternoon!

the daddy's birthday! love sept coz it's the start of all the friends/family's birthday, great time to meet up, feast, and grow fat, mehsss....

we had dinner at The Cathay restaurant which was located at...no prizes for this one if you get it right.

And as usual with the family, it's always a buffet event. It's crazy, but i have to say the food was awesome. I'm feeling full just looking at this. but if you have 75 bucks to splurge on two persons, go for this. coz the food is so good.

After the scorching sun died down a little, we came out of our air-conditioned room into this dilapidated van for an afternoon of sea activities! ((((((((:

after going through our options with the hot owner of the sea activities place, we changed into our scuba outfits and basically took loads of photos in it! wheees

we could choose 5 activities for around 50bucks or thereabouts. so we chose snorkeling, banana boat, huge jetboat, jetski and some donut float thingy! awesome stuff ((: i love the banana boat thingy so much i requested to sit right at the front!!

after the sun set, and when we all had to peel off my suits coz we really needed to pee, we finally left the sea. washed up and somehow made some plans to head to this seafood place by the harbour for dinner with this couple from hongkong.

when andrea and car as well as the girlfriend of the hk couple left to pick the fish for our dinner, i was left alone with the boyfriend. and omg, like major conversation breakdown! i could only speak english well and he could only speak canto well. and we were both horrible mandarin speakers. but that being the language we both knew in common, we were forced to use it. and i think for the 15mins the girls were away, we had a very confusing and giggly-awkward small talk sesh. yeeech...

dinner was awesome though, tons of sashimi at the cost of a song~, deep fried flying fish, steamed grouper yums, and beer!

and then we bidded farewell to the owner, hot right!!!

but we were left stranded at our hostel because we left our keys with the owner and he went out! so we camwhored in the lobby (((:

after half an hour, we decided to head out to the night market instead of waiting for the owner to return. love the street where our hostel was located, whimsical hostels lining the street to the town centre.

woke up in kaohsiung for brekkie, the three of us trooped out in search of better food. the milk in taiwan is awesome and we had the dan bing thing again wooots!

the hotel did provide us with breakfast. but the hotel reviews all said to avoid the breakfast like the plague. funny though, i kinda like it. homely styled. moreover the breakfast place was on a roof.

and the cab ride down the peninsula of taiwan to kenting. where we finally saw the sea!! and i found out i've got red aunty dot. yeepeee on the day we were heading to the beach.

decided to have some good ol' mackkies for lunch. where we had to order in chinese! i threw in the white flag and left the ordering to carmey and andrea.

our room had two queen-sized bed. so to determine who was the fortunate one who gets the whole bed to herself. we played guess the number of fries remaining......and i won!!! ((: there's andrea counting the fries with a straw, all casino-like.

adding on to the bubble tea count. yikes it's scary how many of those we consumed.

finally checked in to our place, we slobbed around a little in our room til our next activity...

otherwise you'll end up like me, tired but unable to sleep because i am in the throes of heartburn mania.

earlier in the night, i had dinner at thai express with niron, decided to try its yellow ginger chicken rice coz face it, even with the three chillies beside and the second caution by the waiter who took our orders, its name barely rings any alarm bells.

on the contrary, the first bite blew my socks. this caucasian guy beside me had the same dish, he ended up chewing down all of his girlfriend's ice from her drink. i was fanning myself with my hands (like it helps much?) when they left. he leaned over and said, 'it gets much worse ten mins later...'

why thank you. four hours later i'm still feeling it.

met the rest of the pre-reg from our batch at starbucks after...awww i miss them much. being able to just sit down and be gossip-mongers. i look at the pre-reg now and i get depressed much? they make me feel like a grandma )): i don't wanna grow old ))))):

cycling at cijin island took up most of the morning.

the crazy sun got us looking bubble tea. specialty on cijin island was their red tea. all 960ml of it! yep giant cup fer ya...

we had like one day in kaohsiung and by mid afternoon, we were still on the small island of cijin, so we decided to leave after viewing the lighthouse.

we didn't have much time left so we left the island and headed to the hugest mall in taiwan or east asia for the record. it had this huge wheel on the roof. would have been real pretty to sit on it at night with the sparkly amusement park's fairy lights.

picked up another bite before heading back to the hotel. some donut looking thing with stuffing on the inside.

finally first glimpse of our hotel room, it may look nice in pictures, but the horrible red tiles in the toilet was scary. there was also the typical chinesey lion statues used for decor on the dresser yeeee

headed out to explore kaohsiung, surprisingly we were hungry yet again so we settled for some grilled meat that took forever to come. the noodles that was in the set came like half an hour before the meat? roars.....

went off in search of this night market...but our moods were dampened by the fact that we were lost and we were being greeted by dimly litted adverts of liposuction clinics. ugh.

when we finally found the market, we were all drained and zzz-ed.

but this was where car found her favourite pepper puff biscuit. which had eeeky spring onions i have to add!

and i finally tried smelly toufu!

wow, it was really smelly...but at the same time, it was quite nice. i couldn't make up my mind whether i liked it or not.

trudged back to the hotel super drained at the end of the day, but we were greeted by this awesome sight at the subway station. nice.

woke up soup early to catch the 6.36am train. got that timing ingrained in my memory til now. so we all looked crap! ))):

as usual, my mini bladder started looking for a toilet. found one and it was waaay cleaner than i imagined it would be. for a moment, i thought i was in japan!

reached kaohsiung finally, after napping, after drinking tons of soy bean, after drinking tons of yakult....

frickin ticket cost us close to 5o bucks.....

the train in almost every country i've been to recently are more or less the same. clean. hygenic. blah.

we found our hotel, couldn't check in yet because it was like 8am or something. so dumped our stuff and headed out to cijin island! got brekkie at this breakfast place...

this makes my hungry everytime i look at it, it's called dan bing or egg biscuit. but it's basically pancake enveloping an omelette with crispy pork flosss.....mmm! easily my favourite food of the trip.

we rented bikes that cost like about 5 bucks for the entire day.

but we had to push them onto this ferry to reach the island. so this makes the island to kaohsiung what sentosa is to singapore.

barely 30m from the ferry point, we found a stall selling hats so we got us some!

i can't rem what this was, some poop ice cream or something.

first landmark we hit was this cave with glow in the dark astrological stuff...

and on the other side of the cave was the beach (((: so many failed jumpshots!

Escape from the straitjacket of mundane life...

The mandatory bus ride from the international airport to the city centre never fails to put me in a state of jaded-ness, a far cry from the excited bubble I was the moment the plane touched down. Perhaps it's the intrusion into another's culture, all the similar MNCs macs mos 7-11 etc all housed in oh so slightly different buildings from home. I find myself trying to immerse myself in this new fishtank, staring goggle-eyed at the brightly lit shops manned by scantily clad girls. What are they selling, I asked my travel companions. Something that stains your mouth red was the answer, betel nuts. Oh and the further away from the city these shops are, the less clothing you'll find on them.

This june saw andrea, car and i heading to taiwan for lil trip, we've been planning for it ever since we started our kickboxing lessons. It almost didn't materialise when tickets on jetstar cost 700 bucks, but we just let loose the pocket strings and clicked 'BOOK'!

stayed at a proper hotel on the first night, it was slightly costly and breakfast were these kfc coupons that we didn't get to use coz we took the first high-speed rail train in the morning out of taipei..

but it was a really decent place...

threw our stuff down, went to get our high speed rail tickets and then started exploring taipei. at this time it was already 11pm but we were all rearing to go.

first up was this jelly (beancurd?)-redbean-yam sticky balls dessert...

took a short walk to ximending where we had to try the all famous ah zhong mian xian, instead of oysters they had pig's intestines in it..it tasted yummers until i realised they were intestines..haha but i still like my kway chap. thing is this thing wasn't soy sauce coloured. it was pale white euyew?

and so the bubble tea count starts! it's andrea's favourite drink, she made it a point to drink at least one cup everyday.

and then we started proper on the street food! peanut pancakes, fried mushroom cups, corn dogs, sotong balls (abit too fishy!) and grilled meat....

the grilled meat really killed our appetite. it looked awesome on the grill. but what we didn't know is that they massacred a million spring onion plants and hid it beneath the grilled meat. i took one such roll of meat and think my face turned green immediately. i didn't dare touch a single spring onion during the rest of the trip.

another one of those bubble tea before we called it a night...

yays i managed to wake up bright and early today to sneak a run in before work! and boy does it feel good to have a run in before the day barely starts. in addition, bathing in the morning actually feels good! coz i'm all clean when i get in to work.

i'm surprised though at the number of people at the park in the morning of a working day. singaporeans are a healthy lot aren't they. when i get back late at midnight-ish, i see people pounding the streets all the same!

fell asleep at 9pm yesterday.

the next time i opened my eyes, the lights were on, i felt super rested, my sis was awake. so i thought it was 7am but no it wasn't even midnight.

so i went back to sleep. woke up at 4am, and this time i really couldn't fall asleep. godfinger-ed for awhile, read my mail, got a thought-invoking mail from teetoos. drifted in and out of consciousness while those thoughts floated around. somewhere along the waves of thought, i got reminded that my contact lens i bought 4 years back were expiring in 2010. soup random...

i headed to work at 8am, an hour early. so i managed to knock off early today. wanted to head out for a run. changed into my running stuff, and then i passed out on my bed. next time i woke up it was dinner! so apparently 10 hours of sleep wasn't enough roars.

today was crazy mad i wanna shake my hair and roars day. but at the end of the day, it kinda felt great when i looked back at how different i'd have handled today two months ago. and during dispensing today, i judged someone, based on his meds, based on his looks. and after it all, i felt like the wicked witch of the east. omgawd the poor guy )): i truly felt all the guilt in the world. so aggy no judging no matter what. dispense with an open mind.

updates from the weekend, here's what i got down to on sunday since it was one of those few rare weeks that we didn't head to the gramp's.

my mum came home from weekend grocery shopping and somehow had this immense desire to head out for high tea buffet. she wanted putien but my sis suggested this new japanese sweets desert place instead called Let's Sweets.

it was a one hour buffet with a stopwatch on the table to remind you how much time you have left to grab your food. i think it's quite a gd idea. you get your pick but you don't end up being overly full.

so being a japanese sweets place, there were of course lots of desserts to choose from. i'd recommend this place to gals. i doubt guys wld be attracted and satieted by the desserts.

there was the savoury corner as well. and i must say that i do prefer the savoury stuff in favour of desserts. took more stuff from this corner instead. there was japanese curry rice, omu rice, scrambled eggs, cute little finger food, three kinds of pasta, loads of thin crust pizzas, a miniature salad bowl, and home made bread.

there's a station for three different type of crepes, a fondue and tea place, as well as a station that made dancing yaki mochi, google it to find out what those are!

had soup spoon with greg pegs on saturday in town as well! velvety mushroom stroganoff yumsssss!!! its gao-ness is super shiok haha...my sis says there's a new soup restaurant in town called souperlicious that's slightly cheaper and tastes not too shabby as well!

and on national day, momo ordered me to pack my place before i could head out to meet the jc peeps. and i found all my old shopping bags wheee so pretty!

okay my eyes are barely open again...time to zzzzz!

been having a flu, proper time for me to get a mc but i'm not, what is frickin wrong with me? anyhows i've been looking for ballet flats to wear at work for some time now. affordable ones that don't cost a bomb. coz those that do are uncomfortable anyways! when sher told me that rubi sells those for a penny, i hopped down to the store and got me a couple! added some ribbons to make them look different....alright my eyes are barely open, bedtime!

day 3 right now. easier. or not. been squeezing so much into my time today. jam-packed. ran for the first time since shape run. how in the world did i ever manage to run 10k. seriously i did 4k today and i was huffing and puffing like any. coincidentally, fb puts super dated photo albums of friends on the right. and i saw the pharmacy run pics and oh to be like that again. i know there was darn exams but oh gosh those carefree days.

and i know them gel nails lasted about a month now, but i couldn't help but pluck the one on my thumb out and now it looks so horrible ugh. i'm scared of my own thumb.

and fb and its links to people really sucks. it does to memories what a farmer tossing hay does. ugh as much as i would like to call someone petty, i think it's pretty much my fault as well )): mehhhs.

and july passed by so quickly. first one third of it was spent overseas. the remnants of july was spend on don't know what...okay don't really know how to put what i wanted to voice out in words here, battery's dying...it's one in the morning, i shld sleep....

Day 2 passed easier than i expected, still not gonna get ahead of myself by being impudent. key is to keep busy, surround myself with people. the night held a little temptation though. still i had to collect items for a friend so the thought was banished.

some days at work you feel like you're soaring, you pick the easy baskets, get the easy patients. today unfortch was not those days. picked a basket with x10000 items. had a run-in with the sup over an intervention, found out that a patient passed away on saturday, stupid printer machine wouldn't print the second part of a label. but as much as i'm complaining, i'm still thankful there's someone out there who's looking out, the sup instead of being pissed told me i was let off the hook and strangely smiled delightfully at me later in the day, the script with the strange label that wouldn't be printed belonged to a maid who didn't make a fuss about waiting, and i'm getting into the alternate weekend roster! wheeees!

and life is a drama, told a friend bout stuff that i normally wouldn't :x

my friend's life is a drama, 'nuff said. but at least i know that this friend doesn't spill more than what's necessary bout things we share.

the first day is always the easiest. that said, i was still tempted in the morning to completely revert back. there's always the urge to do a last minute scramble. so day one started strong because i kept myself busy and i was surrounded by family. the real trial starts tomorrow i guess!

on a side note, it was siti's last day at work on saturday. as much as i'm upset to see her leave, knowing she left for grad studies totally justifies it. i guess in a way it's because she started her first day at the hospital with me. and her leaving for greener pastures makes me think whether i shld do so as well. but no, i'm pretty much comfortable at work right now. three more farewells in the next month. )):

Almost dream-like actually..an escape from all the troubles in sg, but the last couple of days, nah-ah~ not tt fun..I pretty much can stand things or ppl that irritates me quite a lot I shld say, but once it hits the threshold, that's when it all explodes..I'm pretty guilty of spoiling stuff )): but gosh...ugh!

finally caught up with niron this afternoon after work, he's been estranged from all of us for like forever. ever since fyp i must say. poor fella....well we've started work proper as pharmacists and all but today's stint at the mall reminded me of the start of prereg when we were both in the same rotation at DI. how he would man the calls while i catch up on sleep in the morning, and vice versa in the afternoon coz i'll be awake then and he'd have his post-lunch slump syndrome.

well they say spending too much time with a friend would lead to friction, and we did bicker. but it was still awesome starting prereg with a close friend. so after traipsing around tamp1 and settling our purchases, we plopped out butts down at bakerzinn to just reminisce bout old times. pokhara and all...and how he wants to go back to trek the annapurnas...shall see huh..well we did shake on how we're gonna whip ourselves back into shape by the end of the year.

i've been neglecting bitbit and i feel horrible...she's just the cutest witty bitty and i just melt everytime she looks at me with THOSE EYES when i lock her in her cage.

but she has been pooping and peeing on my bed too many times this week! i've changed my sheets three times in total...yes in a week! naughty bitbit!!

but when i smack her rump, all she does is lick my leg )): mehhh how to be angry!

i think i look like this at the end of each day! after all the running between wards, settling a million and one things, and having stuff added to my mental to-do list every couple of minutes.

made two dispensing errors so far, thankfully they're minor ones. but still, it's coz i've been lucky. RARRRS WAKE UP AGGIE! and it's not because i've not enough rest. i've been sleeping at 9pm everyday )): sighsss...tt's like a whole different hemisphere from my sleeping time of 5am last year.

haha but still there's just this thing that makes me laugh out loud the moment i think of it, whether during dispensing, at lunch, walking along the corridors. haha better watch it man.

so so bad. was just reminding myself to breathe at work the entire day. double the workload over the weekend. i missed half my lunchtime and made a few mistakes too many. thank god for the few laughs i had at lunchtime with niron and the few seconds catch up with the usual outpatient people. and the usual crappy patients who end up making the nicest comments ((:

well all the stress at work couldn't beat the shit at home. wow seriously i now know how someone feels like to be framed. couldn't even explain because of how great a story-spinner one is. owells. tahan!

headed down to everything with fries with car after kb lessons this week. and of course we had the nutella tart for afters. i think my tummy has declared it to be the last one in a long time. ugh when i think of nutella, i feel squeamish! our fitness fridays have more or less became fatty fridays...3 more lessons to the end of the class )):

and i just had my first solo saturday at work whooo everything went fine i think. won't know til monday anyways. had supper with 19 yesterday as well. AND ALEX AND TEETOOSS COMES HERE. roars!!! just as i was so sure they'd never know of this place. well helloo (((:

that's what i feel sometimes, too protected, too sheltered. ugh it's horrible to be fighting against the wall but yet knowing it's all done in good faith. well i might be wrong, but sometimes that's how people learn isn't it? from mistakes?

i know money wouldn't solve anything but if it'd show that i have enough notches on my battle belt, then maybe yea i'll scrimp and get all that money. so no road bike, less shopping, less good food the next year. friends help yea!!!

and i'm pretty much upset by work. what was the golden week with weiqi, leedee and simon as lunch buds and niron in the DI corner as friend to go chat with while slacking (read taking a breather laa) is now long goneee. all my favourite ppl at work...but weiqi's working part time so i hardly see her these days. and two of the others just dropped a bomb today that they're leaving soon. grahh i'm depressed. why do good things never seem to last

but there's something at work that makes me smile to myself. it's been some time since i felt all so warm and fuzzy inside! my driftwood through the rough waters ((((:

sunday brunch

was dimsum at this super old school hong kong restaurant at chin swee road on the roof of a multi-storey carpark. me loves!! the old school part that is...it's the kind where you catch hold of waitresses pushing their trollies loaded to the brim with different kind of dimsum and let them unload the dishes onto your table.

and as if we didn't had enough of dimsum, we made a stop at tong heng to get more egg tarts.

went to my grandma's afterwards. them old folks staring out into the bright lazy sunday sun while bee and i watched redcliff 1 and 2...ugh ugh ugh we couldn't finish the second one...and it was at the exciting part when papa came to fetch us home!

was family time yet again at tamp1. my mum's just in love with the fried prawn mee and chendol there. and of course the matcha ice cream at manpuku. and i scored a few dresses from topshop wheeepees! okay NO MORE SHOPPING til taiwan!

saturday hi tea

last saturday, my family got together for hi-tea...buffet-styled.

went back to panpac's global kitchen yet again. this time the spread was smaller..but we still got stuffed. their selection of tea was awesome though! okay pictures...you won't guess what we did this sunday........grrrrr!

saturday morning was crazy because i woke up at 8.38am. when work started at 8.30am. yes i must be insane. time at work just....kinda passed.

weiqi invited us to her church's easter production, so i went along with leedee! i'm gonna be awful sad when he leaves. work's fun with him around! i'm gonna miss weiqi too...she just got posted to a different pharmacy and she's only working half-days so no lunch tgt!!!

met the 19 guys the previous night. we were supposed to catch a movie but tickets were sold out so we made our own movie screening at titus' place. watched this show called The Man Who Stared at Goats. euyewwwww....the guys loved it, i on the other hand fell asleep. was pretty annoyed when titus announced my falling asleep even though he was at the other end of the room from me! rarr! we played wii for awhile then headed out to supper......oooh so that's why i couldn't wake up the following morning for work.

and the sparkley eyes when greeting enemies concept in the show and the sun salute just tickled me so, so here's the sun salute...nonsensical showwww....

bicycling with car

was a super last minute thing. received a msg from joy in the midst of work that night cycling on good friday was cancelled. was bushed coz i was looking forward to it. well happened to ask car and she agreed on the spot. was quite surprised, it's not everyday you planned night cycling 3 hours before it happened.

car picked me up in her pickup with her bikes in the back. we almost changed plans to night hiking along the southern ridges when we somehow managed to deflate car's bike's tyres instead of inflating them. but the kindly malay uncle at the petrol station helped us with it! ohhh there's just kind souls everywhere. (((:

we managed to make a few interesting pitstops and then my camera batt had to die ugh! so we resorted to my phone's cam. the blackberry's cam is just not good at all.

had dimsum at swee choon where car gave the xlbs the thumbs up! whoo ((: it was really good. wanted to head to barrage, but we kinda not know the way, and we could see lighting every couple of minutes, so we headed back. more food than cycling again!

but it was just as well, car and i took turns yawning the entire drive back. esp car, she had to wake up at 6am for school earlier that day. drove back to unload her bikes at her place, then she drove me home, i'm not sure how she managed to drive home without falling asleep. but i was pretty worried, coz we were seriously tired! i was resorting to singing along to the radio to keep both of us awake. and car was just grunting in recognition every few minutes.

love car for being my impromptu crazy activity bud! i'm sorry i made you turn onto the wrong expressway!!!!
